My narrative

WHAT?
Our class did a narrative about superhero.We get to make up a super hero.


SO WHAT?

My narrative is about this Pokemon called Ditto. Ditto had a side kick called taco and they stop Mr Sneak Attack from stealing all the Pokemon from the Pokemon center.


NOW WHAT

I think I need to work on my spelling and full stop and capital letters.



When the year 5 are on camp

Last Tuesday and Wednesday the year 5 when on camp.Meanwhile the year 6 stayed at school we get to make our own SML and we get to chose what we want to do like drawing,reading,writing,math and others to.

I enjoyed drawing Pokemon because it was fun and I also enjoyed sand art because it was cool when we pored sand in the sticky parts it turned out awesome.

Week 4 blog

WHAT?

This week was literacy week.We did many things such as scavenger hunt, dress up day,stop drop write,stop drop read,Golden ticket,library activities,guess the teacher,guess the book,Soraya Nicholas-visiting author 


SO WHAT 

My favourite part of literacy week was the Golden ticket because it was so much fun to try and find a golden ticket and I also like stop drop and write because we tried to use our imagination and write.

Kauri Athletics event

WHAT ?

On Wednesday we had a kauri Athletics event 

SO WHAT ?

we had 5 events shout put,long,jump,sprints,high jump and discus.I enjoyed high jump because its my favourite event

NOW WHAT?

I need to improve on my discus because I want to be 1st 2nd or 3rd.

What?
I am learning to understand how words are formed using roots, prefixes and suffixes.


So What?I have learned that words that have the root hydra- and aqua- mean water. For example hydrate mean to add water or moisture to something to supply something with water


I have learned that words that have the root spect- mean look / see. For example spectator mean a person how look at something


Now what?
I feel that I have a an spectacular, understanding of the root words aqua-, hydra-, and spect-

 WHAT?

This week I am reflecting on one of my writing goals

IALT: Improve my writing by learning how to:

* use a variety of sentence starters

This week I have been focusing on how to write a drop-in clause

SO WHAT?
Here is an example of a drop-in clause

Mr Forman is our teacher.
He loves his red car.
Mr Forman, who is our teacher, loves his red car.

Mr Forman is the subject of the sentence.
We change ‘He’ to ‘who’
We place commas around the clause we ‘drop-in’

MY EXAMPLES:

My writing Goals for term2

IALT: Improve my writing by learning how to :

-organise my writing into paragraphs

-use the correct language features of a narrative-dialogue

It will help my writing to be more interesting and to hook the readers in more

What?
on Tuesday our class did sun art with Mrs Boston.

So what?
we read the Maui and the sun then we had make our own sun first we had yo draw our own sun then we grab the big black piece of paper and draw our sun with chalk then we coloured our sun with pastils and then we give it to the teacher and they put the black dye.

Now what?
my next art I would like to do some st Patrick day art.

Year 6 camp


So what?
Last week the year 6 students went to Waipara for a 3 day camp

What?

We did some activities like canoeing, raft building and others.
I enjoyed doing the raft buiding because most of the raft sunk and we came last=(
Raft building was the most challengeing because it is most likely to sink
My camp highlight was abseiling.It was so fun because the ninja walk was so much fun.

Now What?
I am going to use the skills and  dispositions I developed on camp to help me throughout the years.


SSR

What?
 I have just finished reading this book as part of my reading goal  which is to  be able to read for longer periods off time and retain meaning

So what
I like about this book is that it has funny thing inside of this book like lean to read with Andy it is so funny

now what my goal is also to read a variety of a genre.This is a fanciy book.The next genre I am going to read is a mystery.
